Hey, there!
I'm Lincoln, and I make silly sounds. Professionally!
I record voiceovers for commercials on television, radio, and streaming services, youTube videos, comic dubs, E-learning programs, training and compiance videos, cartoons, videogames, and more! As of this writing, I've produced over 15 audiobooks in my home studio. So poke around this site to see some examples of the type of things I do, and feel free to hit me up through the fancy little buttons down below!
So, what's your deal, anyway?
Fair question. My voice acting career began in 1982, when, at the ripe old age of three, I performed my first impression, Count Von Count from Sesame Street. Soon after, I began putting on "plays" for my parents in the basement. In first grade, I saw my first musical at the local high school, and I was hooked. I sought out every opportunity to perform I could possibly manage to squeeze in. By my senior year, I was performing with at least eight different groups.
I studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, and film and theatre at the University of Michigan, appearing on stage and in front of as well as behind the camera. While there, I joined an a cappella group which I helped lead to an ICCA championship win in 2002 (in case you're wondering, yeah, that's the competition from Pitch Perfect).
We recorded an album, which was when I got my first real taste of studio recording. I spent countless hours with our music director and engineer, tweaking, mixing, and mastering those tracks, which gave me a welcome, if unexpected, education in recording and producing.
I've made appearances on television, a web-series, and was one of the principle characters in a small independent film, but visits to Los Angeles made it clear that trying the traditional way of trying to get a break in Hollywood was not for me.
After graduation, a friend and I formed a live entertainment company, hosting events, and providing venues in the Ann Arbor area with karaoke and trivia services. I wrote, hosted, and produced well over 1,000 hours of trivia programming, and have logged more hours on a microphone than I could possibly keep track of (though, if I had to guess, I'd say in the 8,000-9,000 hour range).
Then, the pandemic changed everything. All of our venues closed, and my priorities needed to shift, moving my focus to helping my family make it through. Finally, as life began to find a new balance, I knew it was time to get back to work- But not the work I had been doing in 2020: the work I had begun in 1982. Voice work. Characters. Accents. Impressions. Using what talent I have, along with dedication, focus, and decades worth of oddly apropriate experiences, I strive to be better at helping to shape and tell stories. Maybe yours can be the next story I tell.
Here's all the technical bits:
I work in an custom built recording studio in my home, which makes for a really quick commute! I talk into a 5th generation RØDE NT1 microphone hooked into a Focusrite Scarlett interface. I listen with a set of audio-technica ATH-M50x headphones and a pair of PreSonus Eris 4.5 s monitors to make sure everything sounds right. I use Reaper or Audacity as my DAW, depending on the situation, with a variety of custom presets crafted specifically for my voice and my studio by a professional audio engineer.
